Primary Identifier

The logo of Suncheon Bay National Garden is three flowers that may also look like a human face with eyes and mouth. The elements of the logo are designed to symbolize how breaking the mold can achieve harmony. It shows the philosophy of Suncheon Bay National Garden as a space where nature and humans coexist in a creative, open, and friendly way.

Main Pattern Character

The graphic manual is based on standardized cartoons.
Examples include the friendly-looking birds and grass fairy that look like a bunch of densely sprouting grass. Graphic effects vary from small to big, and they are available in two and three dimensions. They are applicable to various materials including paper, textile, glass, metals, and ceramics. The pattern creates a well-organized image on stationery sheets of paper, uniforms, small items, plastic containers, mugs, signs, etc. and delivers a graphic message that is full of positive and naturalistic energy.

Alessandro Mendini

Mendini was born in August 1931 in Italy, and he is the CEO of Atelier Mendini.
He received his master’s degree in architecture from Politecnico di Milano. Mendini won the Compasso d’Oro Award in 1979, 1982, and 2014. He was the lead artist for the Seoul Design Fair 2010, and he has worked with major Korean corporations including LG (Hauzen), Samsung (Galaxy Gear), and Hansam. Mendini has worked on many architectural, furniture, and environmental design projects in other countries in Europe and elsewhere, including Alessi House and Hiroshima Paradise Tower.
